Running For Resilience

Here at Canberra and Tuggeranong Medicare Mental Health Centres we recognise the importance of looking after your physical health. And we also know that spending time on activities that improve your physical health also have huge benefits for your mental health.

If you’re seeking opportunities to get out into the fresh Canberra outdoor air, connect with like-minded community members all while improving your physical health, our friends at Running For Resilience (R4R) are a great organisation to connect with.

Whether you’re a walker or runner, their free weekly events are aimed at getting participants 20-30 minutes of exercise, with routes starting from various locations (Kingston Foreshore, Denman, The Jetty and University of Canberra) on both weekday mornings and evenings.

Every time the R4R groups gather, they’re demonstrating resilience, recognising that everyone faces challenges and most importantly signalling to someone doing it tough that there’s a community behind them.

Connect with R4R via their website, and you can also follow them on Facebook and Instagram.

We will be working with R4R on some upcoming educational talks and sessions to help interested R4R walkers and runners. Stay tuned both here on our website, and on our social media channels for more information.
